Collaboration Hub

Build With Us: Co-Creating Human-Centered AI

The Collaboration Hub is where community partners, organizations, and innovators work side-by-side with the Center for Augmenting Intelligence (CAI) to design, test, and scale AI solutions that matter.

We collaborate with Detroit communities and national partners to co-create projects that improve health, strengthen neighborhoods, retrain the workforce, and prepare a new generation of Enterprise AI Solution Designers.

Our Collaboration Process
We use a clear, relationship-centered process to move from ideas to action.

  • Step 1 – Share Your Idea or Challenge
Complete our collaboration form with a brief description of your community, the issue you want to address, and how you think AI might help.
  • Step 2 – Discovery Conversation
We schedule a conversation to better understand your goals, context, constraints, and desired outcomes.
  • Step 3 – Alignment & Pathway Selection Together, we determine the best path forward. Your idea may become:
    • A student-led innovation project
    • A community pilot or demonstration project
    • A workforce retraining program
    • An enterprise AI solution design initiative
    • A research and evaluation partnership
  • Step 4 – Co-Design & Planning
We host co-creation sessions with your team and key stakeholders to define success, map workflows, and identify the right AI tools and methods.
  • Step 5 – Build, Pilot & Learn
We support the development of prototypes, simulations, or training programs and work with you to test them in real-world settings.
  • Step 6 – Sustain, Scale, or Transition
Based on results, we help you refine the solution, explore funding, and plan for long-term implementation or scale.

Collaboration Priorities

We priorities partnerships that:

  • Address health inequities and urban health challenges
  • Support digital and AI literacy in underserved communities
  • Create pathways into AI-related careers
